  • What Makes This MHFA Course Different?

Led by Deep Clinical and Education Expertise

This course is facilitated by Melissa Jane Di Mieri, who holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science, a Diploma of Mental Health Services, and the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, along with four decades in customer relations, middle-senior management, entrepreneurial start-up organisations, corporate, retail, and health science.

You’re learning from someone who understands mental health theory, lived realities, and how adults actually learn — not just how to deliver slides.

Accredited, Evidence-Based, and Delivered with Care

All training is fully aligned with Mental Health First Aid Australia standards and outcomes.
What’s different is how that content is delivered:

    • trauma-aware

    • psychologically safe

    • paced for real understanding, not information overload

Trauma-Aware by Design (Not as a Buzzword)

Mental health conversations can surface personal experiences. This course is delivered with clear boundaries, optional participation, and respectful facilitation, ensuring learning remains safe, grounded, and supportive for everyone in the room.

Practical Skills You Can Use Immediately

The focus is not just on what to do, but on how to do it well:

    • How to start conversations safely

    • What language helps (and what harms)

    • How to stay calm and regulated

    • How to guide someone towards appropriate support

Participants leave feeling confident, not responsible for “fixing” anyone.

    Small Groups, High Engagement

Public courses are intentionally kept small and interactive. This allows space for questions, reflection, and skill building— rather than a one-size-fits-all delivery.

    Professional, Calm Learning Environment

    The tone is:

    • professional, not clinical

    • warm, not over-emotional

    • clear, not overwhelming

This matters — especially for workplaces and community settings.

    In Summary

This MHFA course is different because it is:

    ✔ Delivered by a psychology-qualified, diploma-trained mental health practitioner
✔ Facilitated by a qualified adult educator
    ✔ Accredited and nationally recognised
    ✔ Trauma-aware and psychologically safe
    ✔ Practical, grounded, and human
